NOTICE BRIEF:
TrustCommerce would like to remind our clients of the importance of remaining vigilant in protecting your log in credentials. There has recently been an increase in attacks using “cloned” sites which attempt to harvest legitimate log in credentials. These cloned sites are an attempt to harvest legitimate log in credentials by creating a website that looks like a legitimate website and has a similar web address. For example, the URL may contain a misspelling of the legitimate company’s name or a website that includes some variation of the company’s name or products. It will present as a log-in page, requiring a username and password, but will harvest the credentials in an attempt to gain access to the user account.

Due to the increase in these types of attacks, we recommend that you use caution when visiting TrustCommerce related websites that you may find through a web search, including those in sponsored search results. Please ensure that you are only using your bookmarked site with the URL provided by TrustCommerce, vault.trustcommerce.com, when accessing the TC Vault. If you are uncertain about whether the URL is correct, you can contact us at 1-800-915-1680 option 3.

TrustCommerce will always communicate directly with you in the event of any changes to URLs. Following are some steps to help you identify a cloned site:

  • Misspellings in the URL (e.g. compnayname.com rather than companyname.com)
  • The URL does not match your bookmarked URL
  • Be cautious of selecting URLs found in search engines, including URLs found in the sponsored search results
  • Double click on the “lock icon” in the URL bar to get additional information about the site, such as the name of the company to which the certificate was issued.
  • Look for the contact information or the privacy policy on the site to verify that it is consistent with known TrustCommerce documentation

TrustCommerce would like to remind our clients that protecting your login credentials is of the utmost importance and we take our security and any potential misuse of your credentials very seriously.
If you feel that you may have interacted with a cloned site or simply wish to be proactive or cautious, you may change your password by contacting Client Services at 1-800-915-1680 or 949.387.3747 and select Option 3. We will work with you to ensure your account integrity.
